"The first weekend in March my son was married at the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort in Santa Barbara, a spectacular setting with impeccable service for those who can afford the tariff. My daughter, two grandsons and I stayed in adjoining "jungle rooms" amidst lush tropical and semi-tropical foliage, including a Bo tree (ficus religiosa), thought to be the type under which the Buddha meditated for six years. While the boys swam Saturday morning in the outdoor pool, my cousin and I photographed the many beautiful flowers on the grounds and played croquet on the pitch. The wedding that afternoon was on the lawn of the Mariposa Garden overlooking the ocean, with dinner and dancing afterward in a private room near the Bella Vista's main dining room, which opens onto a lovely patio where we enjoyed breakfast--(I recommend ordering from the menu instead of sampling the more expensive buffet)--and lunch. The food at all three meals was delicious! Our rooms came with a "Passport" to the Coral Casino, the beach and cabana club that includes a larger swimming pool, another fitness room and cafe and beach cabanas for rent. For others in less expensive rooms, there is an additional fee for access to the club. Unless you are staying two days or more, I recommend remaining perfectly satisfied with the resort's other facilities--including spa, tennis courts, putting green, beach access, jogging routes, beauty salon, gift shop, etc. So many amenities, so little time!"
