"Saffire Freycinet is truly magnificent in every possible way. From our initial enquiries of eloping at Saffire to the planning and organisation of reservations, ceremony location options (within the property and surrrounds), flowers, hair, make-up and wedding menus the staff here went above and WELL beyond our wildest dreams. Any pretence we thought this property might have held was all but dissolved as our wonderful and friendly Guest Services Manager (Lisa), introduced us to the jaw-dropping architecture and decor of the main building and onto our gorgeous, gorgeous suite in which we were lucky to call home for four nights. An invite to lunch on the day of our arrival would have been impolite to refuse and it was here that we were greeted with the true indulgence that makes Saffire amazing - the food...The rooms are perfectly appointed in what feels like an Australian meets Scandinavian style of design and decor. The cloud-like bed envelopes you every evening and in the midst of a Tasmanian winter, nothing says 'we care' like a lamb's wool covered hot bottle, perfectly positioned in the bed during the turn-down service. The Schouten Island experience was a wonderful morning out - cruising around the stunning East Coast in the hands of a passionate guide (Nadine) and equally passionate skipper...On the day of our wedding, I was attended to by the beautiful, kind and vivacious staff of Felicity and Gabi at Spa Saffire. Signing tables, chairs, flowers, champagne and high tea were organised with precision, professionalism and friendliness during and after our ceremony at 2pm and our 4 course degustation and matching wine menu created by Hugh was simply devine. We wept as we left Saffire...Without any hesitation we would recommend Saffire Freycinet for a wedding, elopement, mid-week sojourn or romantic holiday. Our only advice is that you book for two nights or more to really indulge!"
